Worship
John 4:23-24: But
the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the
Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and
they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in
truth.
Worship is an act of reference
or homage which must be
given to God alone and not
to any person or image. It is an act of expressing our
feeling of profound love and admiration to God. The Lord
Jesus brought out two issue about acceptable worship to
God in the above scripture, i.e worship must be
in truth and in spirit.
God created all things for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11), but he made man to worship Him. When God breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life after he had made him out of the dust of the earth, he released into him, His admiration and love thereby initiating an unparallel intimate relationship between God and man was established.

The Blood of Jesus in Worship
The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Now, no one can come into the presence of God and offer an acceptable sacrifice of worship without a clean hand and a pure heart - Psalm 24:3-6 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." Hebrews 10:22 - "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water."
